Meet on biodiversity

Port Blair
14 Nov 2017

Biodiversity can be explained in one phrase - ‘When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world’. Biodiversity is about the diversity of range of different living things and systems in an area. The more plant, insect and animal species there are in one area, the greater the biodiversity and healthier the ecosystem! To inculcate the values of local biodiversity and about its protection and conservation, CGZ (Coastal Green Zone), an initiative to protect coastal ecosystem organised an activity based interaction session with the children of Guptapara village on Sunday on the theme, ‘Why do we need to conserve local biodiversity?’ Children, youth and PRI members participated in the interactive session with great zeal and open-eyed enthusiasm.
