MGIS wards celebrate Independence Day

The Mahatma Gandhi International School, Brookshabad here celebrated Independence Day with patriotic fervor on Wednesday. The chief guests for the day were Mr Jai Kumar Jain and Smt Nirmala Jain, Chairman of the school Trust. To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, the chief guest hoisted the national flag in the school premises and all in unison sang the national anthem.
Welcoming the gathering, the Principal, Smt Rahida Kabeer, spoke about the freedom struggle of the country. Winners of the speech competition enthralled the audience by sharing their views on the essence of the day. Students of Classes III-V also showcased their dances to the patriotic songs which motivated the spectators. The highlight of the program was the enactment of the Indian Leaders by the Pre-K students. It was heartening to see the tiny tots apply themselves with so much zeal and zest. The participants spell bound the audience with their performance and their performances justifiably paid homage to the efforts of the Indian Leaders they acted as. Badges and certificates were handed over to the proficiency holders by the chief guests and Principal and the winners of the competitions were rewarded.
