More demands placed before Rajnath Singh at HMAC meet

The Home Ministry Advisory Committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of Mr Rajnath Singh, Home Ministry of India on Friday at New Delhi. Mr Vishal Jolly, State President of Bharatiya Janata Party, A&N Islands & Member of HMAC placed demands viz. replacing Zilla Parishad with Pradesh Parishad / Legislative Council, development of transshipment Port at Campbell Bay, Great Nicobar, separate Shipping Corporation for A&N Islands, ship Repairing Yard/Dockyard and Ship Wrecking Yard, online Portal for Yachts/Cruise Liners, Visa on Arrival Facility for Tourists. They also demanded  opening more Islands for Tourism, development of Tourism Circuits, renewal of Palm Oil Cultivation at Hut Bay, review of Shekhar Singh Commission Report. The pending domicile Issue pertaining to promulgation of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Public Employment (Requirement as to Residence) Regulation, implementation of Inner Line Permit system, early execution of Undersea Fibre Optic Cable project, de-notification of Deemed Forests were also discussed.  Regularisation of Excess Land, regularisation of old encroachments, entitlements under Food Security Act, regularization of services of all DRMs employed in different departments of A&N Administration and settlement of employees salary dues to Suryachakra Power Corporation Limited.
The Union Minister directed the MHA officers and UT Administration to expedite redressal of the pending issues. Mr Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament, Mr Harinarayan Arora, Mr Ajoy Bairagi, Mr. B. Eshwar Rao, Mr. Jaydeep Kr. Dey, Smti. Durugawati, Saw Tathu, Dr. Rohinder Lall of HMAC Members and HMA & UT Administration officials attended the meeting.
