MoRTH releases 6.55 Cr for 20 projects under CRF

The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has accorded sanction of Rs 85.97 Crores to undertake twenty works in these islands under Central Road Fund. An amount of Rs 19.16 Crores released by the Ministry against the works has been utilised and accordingly, the utilisation certificate has been also extended to the Ministry in the month of November, 2018. Since then, the Administration was waiting for release of next stage payment under Central Road Fund. Since the matter was delayed, Mr Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament pursued the matter with the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways.
Pursuant to the efforts of the MP, the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways finding satisfactory progress of works has released subsequent stage payment of Rs 6.55 crores from the Central Road Fund and the amount has been transferred to APWD through the Public Finance Management System (PFMS) to meet the expenditure against 20 works of this UT Islands sanctioned by the Ministry under Central Road Fund during 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18.
