MP lays stone for black-top road at Prothrapur

The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Mr Bishnu Pada Ray laid the foundation stone for construction of black top road from Gurunath house to Binu house at Mavaveer Nagar, Prothrapur, Ward No. 23 recently for which the expenditure required for construction of said road has been provided/granted by him under Member of Parliament Local Area Development fund (MPLAD).  Mr Sanjay Meshak, Councillor, PBMC Ward No.23, Mr Pushparajan, EE, CD-III, APWD, prominent social workers and residents of Mahaveer Nagar were present during the occasion who expressed their happiness and gratitude to the Member of Parliament for fulfilling their long pending demands through MPLAD fund.
In his address, the Member of Parliament highlighted about the overall developmental works that have been extended by the Modi government to the A&N Islands such as c/o National Highway from Chidiyatapu to Lamya Bay (Diglipur) for a length of 333 kms which includes two major creek bridges one at Uttara and Baratang, Health Insurance scheme for cashless treatment upto Rs5 lakhs for eligible islanders and retired government servants under ANIISHI scheme, incentive to the pregnant women for Rs,5000 in three instalments under PM Matratva Vandana Yojana, grant of 1/30th + DA w.e.f. 01.09.2017 to the eligible DRMs working for long number of years in various departments, revision of wages for DRMs for both in Govt. and private sectors w.e.f, 01.01.2018, Optical Fibber cable (OFC) from Chennai to Port Blair to connect other islands from Port Blair, installation of 2G/4G mobile towers about 214 at different locations in A&N Islands, extension of two air ports from 1 km to 3 kms one at Diglipur and C/Bay, expansion of Veersavarkar Airport at Port Blair having facilities like Chennai, Kolkatta airports, fund given under CRF for c/o of bridges and rural roads, Rural roads under PMGSY, distribution of free LPG connections under Ujjala scheme, distribution of 4 LED bulbs on free of cost to all the consumers including left out beneficiaries and other social security schemes in which the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan aims to boost and make cent percentage achievement in implementation of central government schemes. He also appealed to the residents/islanders who are eligible under the schemes to avail the same during Gram Swaraj Abhiyan.
