The Member of Parliament, Mr Bishnu Pada Ray has called for reframing the transfer policy and restriction of tenure for government employees posted in the southern group of islands. In a letter to the Lt. Governor, Mr Ray said that all areas in the southern group of this territory are considered hardest areas compared to other districts and government employees posted in these regions suffer lack of basic facilities like transportation, communication, accommodation etc. Referring to his discussion with the Lt. Governor recently, the Member of Parliament urged him to consider restricting tenures of government employees posted in southern group to one year as maintained by the Police Department instead of different terms by various other government departments.
