The President, A & N Territorial Congress Committee, Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma, State President of DMK, Mr Marudhavanan,, State President of TDP, Mr N Manikyarao Yadav and Mr KG Das, Secretary, CPI(M) have demanded a CBI inquiry into the alleged murder of V Ramesh, son of Mr Venkatesan, a 2nd year student of Mount Zeon College, Pudukottai, Tamil Nadu. In a letter to the Chief Secretary, the leaders claimed that few days prior to the death of Ramesh, he along with some of his classmates protest against the bad quality of food being served in the hostel. “As per eye witnesses, the body of V Ramesh was found on a railway track in an unnatural and objectionable condition which indicate that it cannot be a case of suicide. His money purse and mobile phone was found around 400 mtrs from the spot. Two cut marks were found in the private parts of the body and all these indicate that this was a pre-planned murder. Though the Hostel Warden was arrested in the case, he was released on bail after some members of the college management took anticipatory bail clearly indicating involvement of college authorities in the death of V Ramesh. Even the parents of Ramesh are highly dissatisfied with the investigation carried out by the local police and the Member of Parliament, Mr Bishnu Pada Ray has also urged the Prime Minster to order a CBI inquiry into the case,” they said urging the Chief Secretary to take up the issue with the appropriate authority.
