Mus-XI wins of Srikanth Memorial T-20 tourney

The final match of Dr B. Srikanth Memorial T-20 Cricket Tournament Season-II was held at Car Nicobar between Mus-XI and Tamaloo Sporting Club on Monday. Batting first, Mus-XI put up a score of 104 runs. However, Tamaloo Sporting Club could score only 88 runs, owing to excellent fielding by Mus-XI which led to quick dismissals towards the end and lost the match by 16 runs.
Nicobar District Police have been organizing the tournament for last two years in the memory of former Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District, Late Dr. B. Srikanth, IPS. This tournament was inaugurated by Smt. Neha Bansal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District on April 21 in the presence of Shri. Deepak Yadav, IPS Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District, all Tribal Council members and village headsmen. A total of 25 teams from various villages, clubs and departments of Car Nicobar clashed in 42 matches to win this prestigious cup.
The chief guest, Smt. Neha Bansal felicitated the winners and distributed the prizes to both the winner and the runner-up in the presence of Sh. Deepak Yadav, IPS Superintendent of Police, Mr U.K Singh, EE, (APWD), Mr U.N Chaudhary, AD (Sports), Mr John Levie, 1st Headman, Mus Village and Inspr. Sanjay Kumar, SHO PS Car Nicobar. The SP (Nicobar) promised to conduct many more such tournaments in the future so as to productively engage the youths of Nicobar and bring them closer to the A&N Police department.
