NSS bids farewell to AK Trivedi

The National Service Scheme (NSS)programme officers from different Colleges and Schools in Port Blair organised a farewell at JNRM in the honour of Mr. A. K. Trivedi, Joint- Secretary Higher Education, Director of Youth Affairs and Sports and also the State NSS Officer on his transfer to New Delhi. Mr. Trivedi expressed his happiness for conducting various NSS activities with volunteers which will help in their personality development and commitment towards the society. He also said that he tried to make NSS, more active, visible and vibrant with helpful participation of all officers. He thanked the programme officers and requested to carry on further the NSS activities with more zeal and dedication as a motivation to students to work for the society. Dr. N. Francis Xavier, Principal JRNM said during the small span of 9 months as Director of Youth Affairs and Sports and as State NSS Officer Mr. Trivedi’s dynamism initiated and organised many sports and service activities through Directorate of Youth Affairs and Sports and NSS to engage and channelise youth energy for positive and constructive activities bringing in a favourable change in higher education as Joint -Secretary of Higher Education. NSS Programme officers from TGCE, Dr. R. K. Tiwari, Mr. Montu Pandey from Govt. Rabindra Bangla Vidyalaya and Dr. E. Muthukumaran from DBRAIT also shared their experiences with Mr. A. K. Trivedi. In his welcome address the State Programme Coordinator, NSS, Dr. Kandimuthu expressed his gratitude to Mr. Trivedi for taking initiatives and encouraging all officers for participating in NSS activities. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. N. Laxmi, NSS Programme officer from Andaman College (ANCOL).The event was moderated by NSS Volunteer Ms. Chandrima Das.
