Officers urged to work in tandem to finish projects

On the third day of his visit to Southern Group of Islands, the Lt. Governor, A & N Islands, Admiral D.K. Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), accompanied by the First Lady of A & N Islands, Smt. Chitra Joshi and along with Secretary to LG Dr. Ajay Kumar Singla and Deputy Commissioner, Nicobars, Shri Awanish Kumar visited Teressa Island today. They were received by Tribal Leaders and local Heads of Offices at the helipad.
Immediately after his arrival, the Lt. Governor held a meeting with the Tribal Council Members and Officers stationed there, in the Community Hall, Teressa. The Lt. Governor heard their grievances; mainly related to the BSNL network connectivity, shipping services, rural roads, water supply and street lighting in the Island. The Lt. Governor assured that the issues will be addressed expeditiously.  
Thereafter, the Lt. Governor visited Anganwadi Centre, Teressa and interacted with the Anganwadi workers. He also visited the Govt. Secondary School, Teressa where he inspected the school infrastructure  and interacted with the teachers and students. Subsequently, he visited PHC Teressa and inspected the facilities of the hospital. He also interacted with the patients and medical staff. He  expressed his satisfaction over the working of Govt. Institutions in such remote areas and encouraged the officers stationed there to keep up the good work. He assured to provide all the help to Southern Group of Islands to make the lives of people settled in one of the remotest districts in the country, better. Further, he asked the officers to coordinate to expedite the completion of the projects of national interest.
