Painting contest on fire prevention held

Along with the rest of the country, the A&N Fire Service is observing Fire Service Week from April 14 to 20 to enhance general public awareness about the necessity of minimizing losses due to fire. The theme for this year is “Fireman Your Partner For Saving Life And Property”.  To spread community outreach, a number of  programmes like fleet march of  fire vehicles in the city, lecture and demonstration in government buildings, schools, public places were organized.  As an initiative step towards educating the children on fire prevention, a painting competition between children of various schools was organized at Fire Service (HQs) on Saturday. Inaugurating the competition, Mr B Saigal, Dy. Superintendent of Police (Fire Service) appreciated the children for participating in the competition. Around 34 children from five schools participated in the competition.
