PBMC revises pattern, schedule of type-test for LGC recruitment

Port Blair
5 Mar 2018

The type-test for recruitment of LGC in Port Blair Municipal Council, scheduled for March 3 and 4 was postponed after it was observed that candidates were not comfortable with the software prepared for the type-test. The candidates were expecting paragraph for the test while the software was for data entry. Considering it would be unfair to conduct the test with unexpected pattern, it was decided to postpone it and reschedule it with a revised pattern.
As per the revised pattern, the type-test will be in MS Word on computer. Being a skill test of qualifying in nature, each of the shortlisted candidates will be given maximum three attempts to qualify and candidate who qualifies in a particular attempt need not appear in a subsequent attempt. The first type-test on computer has been scheduled at the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Andaman State Unit, GPOA Complex, Ranchi Basti, Port Blair on March 24 and 25 March (Saturday & Sunday).
The fresh Admission Certificate/ Hall Tickets for the type-test can be downloaded from website www.and.nic.in. Candidates are required to bring a copy of the Hall Ticket along with any original photo identity card like Aadhar, driver’ s license, Islander I- Card or Election I- card etc. The dates of subsequent two type-tests will be announced in due course. There will be a minimum 15 days gap between the two tests. About 10 sets of test papers for the type-test will be uploaded on the website www.and.nic.in shortly. However the set of test paper for the particular batch will be decided immediately before commencement of the type-test through draw of lots, which will be conducted by the observer in presence of the Centre Supervisor and candidates.
