PCC observes 100th birth anniv. of Indira Gandhi

Along with the rest of the country, Andaman Nicobar Pradesh Congress Committee today   observed the 100th birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi on Sunday at Gandhi Bhawan here.   The PCC president, Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma garlanded the portrait of Indira Gandhi followed by floral tribute by   Smti Shanta Singh, member AICC, senior leaders  and  supporters of Congress party and general public. In his address, Mr Sharma recalled the  contributions of Indira Gandhi  for the  development of India and  bringing worldwide recognition  in the  international political arena.
To mark the occasion of  100th birth anniversary of  Priyadarshini Indira Gandhi, Bharat Ratna, recipient of  Nehru Award for international understanding and  Lenin Peace Prize and the first woman Prime Minister of India, the  Block Congress Committee, Haddo Ward No.1 with the initiative of Mr Shahul Hameed  organised  a free  health check up camp  at  Haddo today for the benefit of  the populace of the area. The camp was inaugurated  by PCC president  Kuldeep Rai Sharma. Dr. E.  Prabhu, MD (International Medicine), Advanced Nuclear Medicine Research Institute,  Chennai  conducted the general medical check-up of  people. Blood test for diabetics, hypertension (BP)  and  thyroid test was conducted for more than 500 people during the camp.
