PM Modi likely to visit isles in Feb 1st week

The long wait of islanders to listen to one of the most popular Prime Ministers of the country is likely to be over this February. As vowed by the Lt. Governor of these islands and the Member of Parliament, in exclusive interviews to The Echo of India, Premier Narendra Modi is expected to visit these islands in the first week of  February. At the inaugural function of the workshop for promotion of IT & ITeS industries organized by the Andaman and Nicobar Administration in association with NASSCOM, CII, FICCI, ANIIDCO recently, the Lt. Governor said that the Prime Minister has plans to visit these islands possibly in the first week of February  to lay the foundation stone for the ambitious submarine optical fibre cable project connecting Chennai Cable Landing Station and Landing Stations at Port Blair and five other islands.
According to sources, the local administration is all geared up to welcome the Prime Minister for his maiden visit to these islands. A civic reception at the historic Netaji Stadium is being planned in honour of Mr Narendra Modi, who will also review the strategic and defence scenario of these islands during his brief stay, say sources.
