Police bids farewell to DGP Nuzhat Hassan

An impressive farewell parade in the honour of Smt. Nuzhat Hassan, the outgoing Director General of Police, was held at Police Lines, Port Blair on Wednesday. Altogether, 07 platoons including Executive Police (Male), Executive Police (Female), Home Guards, Fire Service, IRBn, Police Brass Band and Ladies Pipe Band participated in the parade, which was commanded by Shri Narasimha Moorthy, Assistant Commandant, IRBn. A gathering of about 500 police personnel of various ranks from different units and senior officers from Police Department witnessed the function.
In her address, Smt. Nuzhat Hassan, conveyed her heartiest greetings and best wishes to the people of A&N Islands and all members of A&N Police and their family members. She also congratulated the parade participants for their excellent performance. Smt. Nuzhat Hassan, spoke about the steps taken for improving the quality of policing and delivery of public services to the citizens of A&N Islands during her tenure. She also spoke about the development of various police infrastructures and construction of Police Residential quarters. She highlighted the various steps taken towards the welfare of police personnel like timely grant of MACPs, filling up of vacant posts through promotions and recruitments carried out during her tenure in the Islands.
Smt. Nuzhat Hassan, Director General of Police, thanked all the members of A&N Police for their whole hearted support and appealed them to discharge their duties with dedication and sincerity in future to take the A&N Police to new and glorious heights.
