14 yr old missing
The police have registered a case of abduction against unknown persons on the 9th of this month. In the statement to the police, Smt Mala, a daily rated worker of Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, resident of Dollygunj said that her son, 14 year old D Naman Kumar, after returning home at around 9.30 pm, went missing since Feb 7. A case under section 363 IPC has been registered.

Three fined violating ‘Swachhta’ laws

The Kalight police have imposed fine on three persons for violating guidelines of the Swachha Bharat Abhiyan under sections 34(5) and 34(7) of Indian Police Act 1861 recently. One Saravanan, resident of Kalighat and Gabriel Dung Dung, resident of Mayabunder were found littering and dumping garbage at a public place, while Roop Narayan Tigga was found urinating in the open.

Fire mishaps

Fire fighters averted a fire mishap at Ajay Baugh, Minnie Bay on Feb 8. Acting on information, fire fighters rushed to the spot to douse the fire reported from garbage dump. Careless smoking is believed to be the cause of the fire. In another accident, fire fighters prevented a major fire in the STS garage of Mayabunder. The blaze was reported from the kitchen room of the garage causing injuries to one person, who was rushed to the health centre for treatment
