Chappa Tirkey man booked for assaulting spouse

The Rangat Police have booked a resident of Chappa Tirkey for allegedly assaulting his wife and destroying household items by fire recently. In the statement to the police, the victim said that her husband was an alcohol addict and often used to quarrel with her. On March 14, the accused came home in an inebriated state at around 4 pm and started using filthy language and threatened to kill her. The victim managed to escape from the spot and later at around 7.30 pm found that her husband razed the bamboo fence of their home and had burnt some household items. A case under section 435/427/504/506 IPC has been registered at PS Rangat.

17 year old missing

A minor girl of Austinabad here been reported missing from her locality on March15. In the statement to the police, the complainant said that one of her two daughters, 17 year old Nadiya went to a temple at around 10 am, but did not return home. The descriptive rolls of the missing girl are: Height-5’2”, Face – round and was wearing a green coloured suit. The police have launched a search operation to trace the missing girl.

Woman dies after consuming pesticide

A 28 year old woman of Shyam Nagar, Diglipur died after a suicide attempt at GB Pant Hospital recently. Sujata Howladar, wife of Sandeep Kumar Howlader consumed pesticides along with cough syrup on March 5 at her residence and was rushed to PHC, Radhanagar. Doctors of the PHC referred the patient to GB Pant Hospital where she died during the course of treatment. A case under section 174 CrPC has been registered.
