Three injured in road mishap

Driver of a cargo van suffered minor injuries while two labourers sustained serious injuries in a road mishap on Tuesday. In the statement to the police, Ranjit Kandit, said that after loading cargo at Burma Nallah, son of the owner of the cargo van, Adwin Roy, took charge of the wheel to deliver the cargo at Bambooflat. Driving at high speed, Adwin Roy lost control over the vehicle, veered off the road and fell into a roadside drain. The labourers, Sabina Saha and Dhaneshwar Ram suffered serious injuries in the accident. The police have  registered a case under section 279/337/338 IPC.

Fire accidents

Fire fighters averted a grass fire at Namunaghar near Telephone Exchange on Wednesday. The fire team rushed to the spot after receiving the information and brought the fire under control. In another incident, the fire team of Diglipur  prevented a jungle fire at Srinagar No. 29 along the Andaman Trunk Road at around 1.35 pm on Wednesday.
