Booked for assault

The Aberdeen Police have registered a case under section 341/504/323/506/34 IPC against five persons for allegedly assaulting a private worker on Friday. In the statement to the police, the complainant, V Bala Subramani, 30, resident of Buniyadabad, a private bus driver by profession, said that at around 1.50 pm on Friday, while he was on his way to Dollygunj, Siva, Sathiya, Muthu and two others forced him to stop the bus and started abusing him. One of the accused, Siva, also a private bus driver assaulted the complainant and threatened him of dire consequences. The matter is under investigation.

Student commits suicide

A student of Class XI committed suicide on Friday. In the statement to the police, M Ratnam, resident of Bahadur Line No. 2, Police Quarters, on March 24 he left for his duty after dropping his mother at her workplace. After returning for lunch at around 12.40 pm, M Ratnam found his brother, M Saravanan, hanging in the residence. A case of unnatural death has been registered.

Fire mishaps

Fire fighter averted two mishaps on March 23. In the first incident, the fire team doused grass fire at Badmash Pahar caused due to careless smoking, In another incident, fire fighters brought grass fire under control near Calicut Junction at around 1.40 pm last Thursday.
