IOC official commits suicide

An employee of the Indian Oil Corporation was found hanging at his residence at IOC quarters, Buniyadabad on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Ajoy Kumar Naskar, son of Santosh Kumar Naskar, 56, Operations Officer of Indian Oil Corporation. A case of unnatural death has been registered at PS Chatham.
In the statement to the police, Susanto Kumar Mondal, resident of South 24 Parganas, West Bengal said that he arrived here from Kolkata at around 11 am on March 17 to meet his cousin, Ajoy Kumar Naskar. After reaching the government quarter at Buniyadabad, he found the door of the residence open and the deceased was hanging. The deceased was reportedly addicted to alcohol owing to his prolonged posting here.

Case against MRL Co for negligence

After initial investigation, the Pahargaon Police has registered a case under section 304(A) into the death of the 23 year old private worker, which was earlier registered under section 174 CrPC. Based on the statement of Harpit Pal, the Hitachi operator and post mortem report, the Inquiry Officer found that MRL Company did not provide safety equipment to its workers employed in quarry operations which resulted in the death of Sanju, son of Anghu, an employee of MRL Company. The post mortem report revealed the deceased died due to Carniocerebral injuries.
