One held with 1.2 kg of ganja

The Pahargaon Police have arrested a 21 year  resident of Nimbudera in Middle Andaman with 1.2 kg of marijuana last Saturday. Acting on a tip off, the police intercepted the accused Chinanjeev Bagchi, son of Shekar Bagchi, near TTI College, Garacharma and seized the contra band from his possession. The accused had reportedly procured the quantity of marijuana from Kolkata and was selling it in packets of  5 gms. Further investigation is in progress.

22 yr old booked for rash driving

The Aberdeen Police have booked a 22 year old resident of Phoenix Bay here for rash and negligent driving. The accused, Sudeep Ratan, a college student, was driving a two wheeler when  he collided with an auto rickshaw driven by Tapan Halder, resident of Prem Nagar, coming from the opposite direction near Minnie Bay junction on Sunday at around 7.30 pm. Both suffered serious injuries in the mishap and were rushed to GB Pant Hospital for treatment. The police have  registered a case under section 279/338 IPC read with section 184/185 of the Motor Vehicle Act.

Dollygunj man commits suicide

A 24 year old man of Dollygunj committed suicide on Sunday over alleged marital dispute. The deceased, Sanjit Devri, private worker, native of Bagda District, North 24 Parganas, Kolkata, having local residence at Shiv Colony, Dollygunj, had an altercation with his wife, after which he took the extreme step by hanging himself  in the house. The police have registered a case of  unnatural death.
