Thefts at Sisty Nagar
Two cases of burglary have been reported from Sisty Nagar area, Dugnabad on Tuesday. In one incident, Smt Mohini Amma, resident of Sisty Nagar reported loot of cash worth thousands and gold ornaments from her residence. In the statement to the Police, the victim claimed that some unidentified person(s) in the wee hours today decamped with Rs 53000 kept in a white bag, Rs 18800 from a purse and Rs 1000 from a ladies hand bag, one gold ring, one pair of ear rings and one ear ring from her residence. She requested the police to take appropriate action in the matter. In another incident, one Parvathi reported that around Rs 7000/- was stolen from her shop at Sisty Nagar. At around 10 pm on Monday, I closed my shop and on opening the shutters at around 6.30 am today, I noticed that some persons broke into my shop and decamped with cash kept in the shop. Police is reportedly investigating the cases.

IMFL seized
Continuing its drive against illegal activities, the Pahargaon Police arrested a resident of New Bimblitan with illicit quantity of liquor on Tuesday. During routine patrol near ANIIDCO Petrol Pump, the cops noticed the person identified as K. Murganandan, 39 years, private worker by profession, in suspicious state. Upon search, the Police seized one bag containing six 750ml IMFL Bottles of Original Choice Whisky from his possession. The accused failed to produce valid documents for the items and was booked under section 32 Reg. III of 1876. Further investigation is underway.
