Theft at UTCPCR Office
A theft case has been reported from the A & N UT Commission for Protection of Child Rights (UTCPCR) office located at Junglighat last Friday. In the statement to the Police, a clerical staff said that after opening the office at around 9 am, he found some articles spread on the floor and the back door open. After checking, he found some items like a tea maker, wall clock, bucket, emergency lights and some stationary items stolen from the office. The contractor executing some repair works in the office also reported plunder of some items like Drill machine, plainer, tiles curter, hand plainer, wood cutter etc kept in the office premises. The Police has reportedly registered a case under relevant sections of the law.


Haddo resident assaulted at Marine Hill
A resident of Haddo Sunder Colony was reportedly assaulted by his friend last Friday at Marine Hill. In the statement to the Police, the victim said that while travelling towards Bus Terminus, his friend blocked his car near Marine Hill and started abusing him. The accused later attacked the victim with fists and blows. The accused also snatched the gold chain of the victim. In the statement to the Police, the victim has requested the police to take appropriate action in the matter.


Bootleggers held
The Aberdeen Police on Saturday arrested at least two bootleggers for serving liquor without valid permit in different parts of the city. At Phoenix Bay near Fisheries Jetty, the patrol team found one M Kumar, resident of Babu Line committing the offence. One bottle of 750 ml IMFL containing around 300 ml and one 180 ml IMFL bottle containing around 60 ml from his possession. In another raid, the Police arrested on D Rajesh, resident of Phoenix Bay, for committing the same offence at Marine Dockyard. Two 750 ml bottles of IMFL containing about 600 ml and one water bottle was seized from his possession. On Saturday, the Police team arrested one Abdul Kalam, resident of Dugnabad. Two bottles of 750 ml IMFL containing about 550 ml, one 375 ml bottle containing about 100 ml, water bottle and cash of Rs 200 was seized from his possession.
