Police Fire Services observes Commemoration Day

The A&N Police Fire Service is observed its commemoration day on Saturday to pay homage to the fire fighters who lost their lives while discharging their duties.  Mr. Deepak Yadav, Superintendent of Police (Fire), A&N Islands was the chief guest of the Commemoration parade organized at Fire Service (HQ).  He highlighted the duties and responsibilities of Fire Service personnel in ensuring the safety of life and property of the Islanders and also the role of Fire Service personnel in the event of any type of disaster in these Islands.  He appreciated the Fire Service personnel for the good work being done by them and exhorted them to maintain a high degree of professionalism.
A two minutes’ silence was observed in the memory of those Fire Service personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty in the year 2017-18.  The parade was followed by a fleet march of Fire Service vehicles around the city to create awareness amongst the general public about fire safety measures.  Similar programme were also organized in various other Fire Stations located across A&N Islands.
