Pondicherry University VC reviews research activities of ZSI

The Vice Chancellor of Pondicherry University, Professor Gurmeet Singh and Dr. K. Srinivas, Dean (i/c), CDC visited Zoological Survey of India, Andaman and Nicobar Regional Centre as a part of visit to the recognised research institution under the Pondicherry University in A & N Islands on Thursday.  The Vice Chancellor and his team visited the research laboratories, museum, and library of the centre.  Dr. C. Sivaperuman, Officer-in-Charge, briefed about the activities and achievements of this centre. Later, the Vice Chancellor interacted with the Scientists, Scientific staff, Ph.D Research Scholars and GSDP trainees.  The Vice Chancellor in his speech assured that his fullest support and cooperation will be extended for the Ph.D. research programmes. Further, he welcomed ZSI for collaborative research projects with Pondicherry University. In his concluding remarks, the VC complimented the Director, ZSI and his team for well maintenance and contribution to the Biodiversity of Andaman and Nicobar islands and also emphasised that local students must be trained on the aspects of biodiversity conservation.
