Productivity Day, Interactive meet by CIARI at Pareshngar

ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (CIARI), North & Middle Andaman celebrated Productivity Day and organised an “Interactive meet” on the theme “Circular economy for productivity and sustainability” on Monday at Pareshnagar. The programme was organised to create awareness on efficient and sustainable agriculture production system among farmers and farmwomen. In the inaugural session, Mr Tanmai Paul, Farm Manager, KVK welcomed the chief guest Smt. Sebastian Lakra, Pradhan, Basantipur;  PRI-members, and Dr. B. L. Kasinath, Senior scientist and Head, KVK. In her inaugural address, Smt. Sebastian Lakra motivated the farmers to adopt innovative agriculture technologies and thanked the KVK for providing technical support to the farming community. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. B. L. Kasinath highlighted the need for improved productivity and significance of celebrating the National productivity day. He urged the participants to adopt efficient and sustainable agriculture production practices in the farm for better productivity. In the technical session, special talks and interactive session were arranged for enhancing farm productivity, recycling of agriculture, and animal waste for efficient production by Dr. Shailesh Kumar, Mr B. L. Meena, and Dr. Shardul Vikram Lal, respectively. In addition to this, a video on “Efficient agriculture production systems” was also shown to the participants by Mr Prashant Pradhan, and Mr Ravish Kataria. A total of  thirty six farmers and farmwomen participated in this programme. The programme was conducted under the supervision and guidance of Dr. B. L. Kasinath, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK, N & M Andaman and Dr. A. Kundu, Director, CIARI.
