Port Blair
1 Dec 2017

Ms. Protima Banerjee, Councillor, Ward No.6 of Port Blair Municipal Council, expressed her sincere gratitude to the entire Fire Services team for accepting her request for conducting a Fire Audit in Phoungyi  Kyaung area, Ward No.6 led by Mr. Sadhu Khan Inspector, Fire Services. She thanked the entire team for their efforts for carrying out the Fire Audit on Friday in Phoungy Kyaung. She also expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Deputy Superintendant of Police, Fire Services for his sincere support for the Audit which was conducted successfully for creating awareness among the local populace of the area, for preparing themselves for the do’s and don’ts during a fire accident. Further, a plan was laid out to lay underground water hydrant lines in those areas where the Fire Services team cannot reach during any kind of fire accident, as the Phoungyi Kyaung area falls under disaster zone and is quite congested. These underground water hydrant lines are of multiple uses, as they can also be utilised during scarcity of water. The fire audit was performed amidst a large gathering, including a team of PBMC led by Mr. Ashish Mondal (Junior Engineer Water Section). The Fire Services team has left the place with a promise that a mock drill will be performed by the team in near future, thus making it a grand success.
