Pt. Nehru’s birth anniv. celebrated

The Andaman Nicobar Pradesh Congress Committee observed the 128th birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India and architect of modern India on Tuesday at Gandhi Bhawan, Port Blair with the rest of the country. The PCC president, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma garlanded the portrait of Pandit Nehru followed by floral tributes by senior leaders, supporters of Congress party and people from all walks of life.  Mr. Sharma said that India of today is because of Nehru’s ideas and his lifetime dedication to the nation. He added that Panditji’s vision, his struggles and achievements were no less than an epic  saga, and if India is a vibrant democracy and fastest growing economy today, it is because of his initiatives of green revolution, developmental programmes, PSUs and premier institutions of learning.
