Rabindra-Nazrul Sandhya held at Madhupur

The Mondal Public School, Madhupur (Diglipur) organized ‘Rabindra-Nazrul Sandhya’ (Rabindra-Nazrul Evening) – a cultural programme in connection with the 119th birthday of poet Kazi Nazrul Islam on May 26 in its premises at Madhupur, Diglipur, N&M Andaman which was graced by Mr Anadiranjan Biswas, LG’s Commendation Certificate-Awardee writer and editor, Baakprotima & News Spotlight as the chief guest.  The students and teachers of the Mondal Public School presented colourful programme through songs and poems composed by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam.  Dance  items, based on Rabindrasangeet and Nazrulgeeti were also presented by the students of MPS.
In his address, the chief guest appreciated the organisers and lauded the participants for presenting such a beautiful programme.  He opined that while the majority of Islanders are blindly running behind the western culture now-a-days, presentation of pure Indian culture (Bharatiya Sanskriti) by the Mondal Public School like this one goes to prove that the institution is on the right track to preserve, propagate, nurture and usher the Indian culture.  He expressed his hope that the MPS will organise more and more such programmes in the years to come.
Classical jugalbandi on Nazrulgeeti ‘Aajo Kande Kanone Koyelia’ presented by Miss Ananya Biswas and Miss Mahima Mondal mesmerized the audience.  The cultural programme were prepared, directed and supervised by Mr Birendra Kishore Talukdar, the veteran folk singer of these Islands.  Earlier, Smt. Sagarika Mondal, Principal, Mondal Public School welcomed the gathering.  Mr Sushil Mondal, Chairman, Mondal Public School proposed the vote of thanks.
