Rakhi making contest by Kala Kendra Society, SW

To celebrate the festival of ‘Raksha Bandhan’, Kala Kendra, a  society for promotion of art and culture, under the UT Administration, organised a Rakhi making competition on Friday. Altogether, 85 students including boys from eight different schools participated in the contest. The Director of Social Welfare, Mr Navlendra Singh was the chief guest of the occasion. Ms. Rubina Siddqui, Dr. Arun, Gynaecologist,  Dr. Vandana & Dr. Swetha (Homeopathy ) Ayush hospital was the judges. They selected five rachis for prizes.  First prize 5000, second price-3000, third prize -2000, and two consolation prizes. Certificates and mementos also were also given. After completing competition, all the children celebrate Raksha Bandhan and tied Rakhi of the guests and judges. Mr. Navlendra Singh praised students and said, “children have found a great platform to show their talent. The kind of programme should be conducted at regular intervals to encourage children. Children are special in their own field. I wish them all the best.”
