Rally on environment conservation by Havelock Forest Division

As a part of month-long celebration of 68th Vanamahotsava, 2017 a rally was organized by the Havelock Forest Division from the Jetty, Govinda Nagar-01 to the premises of Forest Campus, Govinda Nagar-03, Havelock recently. Shri. M. Ganga Rao,  senior citizen of Havelock started the rally by waving the flag from the Jetty, Govinda Nagar. The rally proceeded with banners and slogans by the school students and other  staff on importance and protection of Forests and Environment and reached the premises of Forest Campus. Govinda Nagar-03. Havelock at about 10.00 am. About 200 people including school students with their teachers, other departmental staff along with the forest officials actively participated in the rally.The rally concluded with a mass plantation ceremony in the premises of Forest Campus along the coastal stretch of Govinda Nagar-03, Havelock. Shri Prabash Chandra Mandal, Principal, Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Govinda Nagar, Havelock was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Besides, the PRI members Smti Shika Rani Mistry, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Shyam Nagar, Havelock. teachers and students of GSSS, Havelock and Govt. Middle School, Kalapathar and Govt. Middle School. Krishna Nagar and general public of Havelock also attended the function in large numbers. The programme itself was an appeal to the general public towards the importance and conservation of forests of these Islands. Shri. Shaji. P. Abraham. Divisional Forest Officer. Havelock Forest Division addressed the gathering and conveyed his best wishes for successful  observance of the "68th Vanamahotsava. 2017" celebration.
Earlier Miss. R. Prema Mary. Forest Guard welcomed the gathering and at the end Shri Hari Dass. Deputy Ranger, Havelock Forest Division addressed the gatherings and proposed the Vote of Thanks. Meanwhile, a rally was also organized in Neil Island. Shri. M. Jacob Kutty, Principal. Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Neil Kendra, Neil Island was the chief guest on the occasion and the rally started from Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Neil Kendra to Neil Island jetty.
