Due to paucity of fund in road sector in PBMC area, many roads for new constructions as well as repairs of existing roads in many  wards particularly in the extended 06 wards under PBMC area, could not be carried by the PBMC.  However, on the request of the Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Mr Bishnu Pada Ray, the A&N Administration through PBMC/APWD prepared and submitted the total 60 estimations of works to the MoRTH, New Delhi for obtaining fund sanction under CRF.
Following the persuasion and meeting held by Mr. Ray with Mr Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highway, at New Delhi, the Govt. of India has conveyed sanction for Rs.33.43 Cr. under CRF for new construction/repairs of all the 60 roads in PBMC wards for a total length around 38 kms under PBMC area after relaxation of rules as a special case for A&N Islands.  This is first time, the Govt. of India has sanctioned the fund under CRF to Municipal roads.
