RD Dte. holds training on digital modes of payment

As per the direction of Ministry of Rural Development, GoI, to promote digital modes of payments, the Directorate of RD, PRIs and & ULBs organized a state-level capacity building programme on digital payments on Saturday in the conference hall of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman in collaboration with the State Bank of India (Lead Bank). Mr Udit Prakash Rai, Secretary (RD/Panchayat)/Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman inaugurated the training programme in the presence of Ms Richa, Director (RD/Panchayat). The Secretary (RD)/Dy. Commissioner encouraged the participants to adopt digital mode of payment not only for the official works but also in their daily routines while making various transactions/payments.
Officials of Directorate of RD, PRIs & ULBs, State Nodal Office of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Block Development Officer of CD Block Prothrapur and Ferrargunj and the District Level functionaries of MGNREGA were trained on different modes of Digital Payments. The trained officials will act as Master Trainers to train the subordinate staff of the department which will subsequently create awareness among rural households on the various tools of digital payments and encourage them to use less cash and adopt Digital methodologies in order to create cashless society.
