Refresher course for Forest Guards concludes

The one week refresher course for Forest Guards of the Department of Environment & Forests concluded on Saturday at Forest Training Institute (FTI), Wimberlygunj. The course sponsored by the Directorate of Forest Education, Dehradun, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Govt. of India was aimed at updating the knowledge of the field level Officers of the Department on forestry and related subjects with the recent developments, issues and technologies in the profession.
Altogether, 22 Forest Guards from different Divisions and units of the Department attended the Refresher Course. The course sessions were handled by competent and highly qualified resource persons from the department and scientific Institutions with professional expertise and long field experience in various disciplines of forestry and allied subjects.
Mr Naveen Kumar, DCF(WL), Port Blair appealed everyone to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and dedication for protecting the forest resources of the Islands. He also gave away the course completion certificates to all the participants. Earlier, Mr Joju P. Alappatt, Director of the Institute presented the course report. Mr Sukumar Das, Instructor, FTI proposed the vote of thanks.
