Refresher course for Foresters begins

The one week Refresher Course for the Foresters of the Department of Environment and Forests commenced at Forest Training Institute (FTI), Wimberlygunj on 19th February, 2018. Mr. Rajesh, IFS, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (BC, BR & ET) was the Chief Guest at the inaugural function. The course sponsored by the Directorate of Forest Education, Dehradun, Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Government of India is aimed at acquainting the field level officers with the latest concepts and trends in forestry, wildlife, environment and allied subjects.
Mr. Rajesh asked the participants to utilize the course to the maximum extent as possible and share their vast experience in the field for better management of forestry resources of the Islands. Mr. Joju P. Alappatt, Director of the Institute elaborated on the objectives of organizing such courses from time to time and apprised the participants about the contents of the course.
