Rough sea forecast

Under the influence of moderate to strong southwest monsoon current, strong southwesterly wind speed exceeding 45 Kmph and generally rough seas are likely along and off Andaman & Nicobar coast. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea during  the next 24 hours. The general public have been advised to take precautionary measures and contact the State Control Room, District Control Room and Emergency Operation Centres in case of any emergency.  
Meanwhile, the INCOIS Observatory, Hyderabad has forecast  high waves in the range of 3.0 – 3.5 meters during 5.30 pm on 10-07-2018 to 11.30 pm of 12-07-2018 along the west coast of Andaman Islands from Ten Degree Channel to Coco Channel. Current speeds may vary between 61 - 95 cm/sec. In Nicobar, high waves in the range of 3.0 – 3.5 meters are forecast during 17:30 hours on 10-07-2018 to 23:30 hours of 12-07-2018 along the west coast of Nicobar Islands from Ten Degree Channel to Great Channel. Current speeds may vary between 62 - 80 cm/sec.
