Rough sea, high wind alert

Under the influence of moderate to strong Southwest Monsoon current, strong south-westerly wind speed between 35 and 45 kmph and generally rough seas are likely along and off Andaman & Nicobar coast.  Meanwhile,  the INCOIS Observatory, Hyderabad has forecast high waves in the range of 3.0 – 4.0 meters between 5.30 pm on July 14 to 11.30 pm of  July 16 along the west coast of Andaman Islands between Ten Degree Channel and Coco Channel. Current speeds may vary between 57 – 91 cm/sec. Under the influence of moderate to strong Southwest Monsoon current, strong southwesterly wind speed between 35 and  45 kmph and generally rough seas are likely along and off Andaman and Nicobar coast.  In Nicobar, high waves in the range of 3.0 - 3.8 meters are expected during 5.30 pm on July 14 to 11.30 pm of July 16 along the west coast of Nicobar Islands between Ten Degree Channel and Great Channel. Current speeds may vary between 65 - 96 cm/sec. Under the influence of moderate to strong Southwest Monsoon current, strong southwesterly wind speed between 35 and 45 kmph and generally rough seas are likely along and off Andaman and Nicobar coast. Fishermen have been advised to be cautious while venturing into the sea. The general public have been advised to take precautionary measures and contact the State Control Room, District Control Room and Emergency Operation Centres in case of any emergency.
