‘Samagra Shiksha’ logo design contest, 2 lakh purse for winner

The Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSE&L), Ministry of Human Resource Development has launched Samagra Shiksha - an overarching programme for the school education sector extending from pre-school to class 12  and prepared with the broader goal of improving school effectiveness measured in terms of equal opportunities for schooling and equitable learning outcomes. It subsumes the three schemes of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Teacher Education (TE) and extending support to States and UTs from pre-school to senior secondary levels for the first time. The scheme is a paradigm shift in the conceptual design of school education by treating ‘school’ holistically as a continuum from pre-school, primary, upper primary, secondary and senior secondary levels. It focuses on improving quality of education at all levels by integrating the two T’s – Teachers and Technology. The Department has now invited entries for the creation of a logo for the scheme of Samagra Shiksha which signifies a holistic approach for holistic development of children.
The designer of the winning logo will be awarded cash prize of Rs 2 lakh and would be required to give copyright of the design to the Government of India besides providing the original open source ‘.ai’ or ‘.eps’ file of the designed logo. The last date for accepting entries is June 23, 2018 and interested participants should ensure that the logo design is original and does not violate any provision of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957 or the Intellectual Property Rights of any third party. All entries will be governed by the provisions of Emblems and Names (Prevention of improper use) Act, 1950 and any violation of the said Act will result in disqualification. An entry could be an individual or a team project and should be accompanied by a brief written explanation of the Logo and how best it encapsulates its essence. Each participant can submit only one entry, which must be submitted through creative corner section of www.mygov.in. Entries submitted through any other medium/mode would not be considered for evaluation.
The Logo should be submitted in JPEG, PNG or PDF format only, designed on a digital platform and all fonts should be converted to outlines. The winner of the competition shall be required to submit the design in open file format (EPS/CDR/PSD). The Logo should be designed in CYMK color and size may vary from 5cm*5cm to 60cm*60cm in either portrait or landscape. The File should be high resolution – at least 300 pixels per inch at 100% size and should look clean (not pixilated or bit-mapped) when viewed on screen at 100%. The Logo should be usable on the website/ social media such as Twitter/Facebook and on printed materials such as black and white press releases, stationery and signage, labels etc.
The winning Logo would be the intellectual property of the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development (DoSE&L, MHRD) and the winner shall not exercise any right over it. DoSE&L, MHRD will have unfettered right to modify the prize winning logo/entry or add/delete any info/design feature in any form to it. DoSE&L, MHRD reserves the right to cancel or amend all or any part of this Contest and/ or Terms and Conditions/ Technical Parameters/ Evaluation Criteria. However, any changes to the Terms and Conditions/ Technical Parameters/ Evaluation Criteria, or the cancellation of the Contest, will be updated/ posted on the MyGov platform.  Participants should make sure that his/her MyGov profile is accurate and updated since DoSE&L, MHRD would be using the details such as name, photo, complete postal address, email ID and phone number for further communication. All Government employees participating in this competition should have prior permission from their employer to participate in this competition.
