Secy Industries reviews functioning of Industrial Estates

The Secretary (Industries), on Thursday, chaired a crucial meeting with entrepreneurs, who have been allotted plots in Industrial Estates. The Chairperson of Municipal Council, Mr IP Singh, Director of Industries, Mr Ajith Anand, representatives from the Police and Traffic branch, APWD etc were also present on the occasion.
The meeting discussed issues pertaining to functioning of Industrial Estate managed by the Industries Department particularly garbage disposal, cleaning and maintenance of drainage network, removal of unauthorized parked vehicles inside Industrial Estates, fixing signboards to Industrial Units to bring in uniformity, issue of Identity Cards to workers employed in Industrial Units to prevent unauthorised entry particularly during night hours and removal of unauthorized constructions.
During the meeting, entrepreneurs were informed that the Industries Department is mulling over introducing gate pass system at the entry of Industrial Estates to prevent unauthorised entry of persons and also to keep a tab on people visiting the Industrial Units. Tenants were also advised to refrain from accommodating family members in sheds erected in Industrial Estates.
