Seminar on apiculture, use of honey by NABARD

NABARD, Andaman & Nicobar Regional Office, Port Blair will celebrate World Honey Bee Day on Aug 19 to create awareness about bee-keeping and uses of its products including honey among farmers and  general public. The theme of the celebration will be “Save Honey Bees”.
In this connection, NABARD will organize a seminar on “Apiculture and use of Honey” in the conference room of NABARD. Members from Farmers Producers Organisation (FPOs) and SHGs engaged in honey production and marketing will participate in the seminar. Dr. G S Pandey, Deputy Director, Agriculture, will inaugurate the seminar as the chief guest. Mr BVS Prasad, General Manager NABARD will moderate the deliberations.
Mr R Y Singh, Assistant Director, Department of Agriculture, Mr M A Salaam, retired Director Agriculture and President of Hortisan, Mr Joseph, Chairman  “Apiary FPO” - a fledgling honey producing Farmers Producers Organisation (FPOs) and  Mr Santi  Gain, a progressive honey farmer from Little Andaman, Hut Bay will be key speakers of the seminar.  A photo exhibition on Honey Bee keeping and sale of pure organic honey produced by farmers and FPOs will be organised in NABARD’s office on VIP Road.
