Seminar on de-addiction held at PTS

The Police Training School, Prothrapur has organized a seminar/course on “De-Addiction” for in-service Police & IRBn personnel recently in connection with the International Day against drug abuse and  illicit trafficking under the overall supervision of Principal, PTS. The seminar aimed at creating awareness that the police onus is law enforcement to curb drug traffickers agencies and not only undertake preventive work by apprehending drug traffickers, but also to sensitize the masses against the pernicious effect of drug abuse.
During the seminar/course, Shri Peshish Kumar of SAATHI, an NGO and the Brahma Kumari’s of Brahma Kumari Centre, Port Blair delivered valuable lectures on different topics such as cause of addiction, adverse affect of drug socially, mentally and physically on human being, how to prevent addiction by meditation and screening on short film on de-addiction.
Altogether, 30 police & IRBn personnel from various police stations/units participated in the seminar. The course was coordinated by Inspr. Abitabachan, Prothrapur under the supervision of Vice Principal, PTS.
