Specially-abled children visit ICGS Vishwast

As part of 41st Coast Guard Raising Day celebrations, a visit for specially-abled children was organized in coordination with Coast Guard Wives’ Welfare Association onboard Indian Coast Guard Ship Vishwast recently at the Coast Guard jetty here. The event was conducted in association with the Directorate of Education and Directorate of Social Welfare, Port Blair and 40 children with teachers from schools of Port Blair visited the ship. The children had a walk around on the ship and interacted with CG personnel. The children were enthused with ship environment and queried about equipment onboard. Games were conducted for the children and gifts presented to all visitors. A movie was also screened for the children showcasing the Indian Coast Guard activities.
The vice president CGWWA, (A & N) Region, Smt Radha Murugan and other committee members of CGWWA were also present during the visit. The aim of the event was to reach out to these children and accord opportunity to see beyond day-to-day life.
