Stranded fishers rescued by SA cops

A team of Police Marine Force (PMF) & Local Police of PS Humfrygunj staff have safely rescued two fishermen who were stranded deep into the sea since 15/08/2018. On the night of 22.8.2018 a missing report was lodged at PS Humfrygunj by Smti. Geetanjali Mondal W/o Shri Arun Mondal regarding missing of her husband and Shri Vijay Baroi who went for fishing in their dinghy namely M.V MADHABI bearing reg. No. IND-AN-SA-MO-41.
Immediately a search team of local police was sent to search the area but could not trace them. Thereafter a search team of PS Humfrygunj  headed by Insp. K. Binoj, SHO PS Humfrygunj comprising HC/2347 Arvind Kr. Kerketta, PC/3005 Shem Peter, PC/2045 Pradeep Kr. Minj alongwith PMF staff SI (Master) M. Paul, SI (ED) V.K Verma, HCs Ganesh Nail, Suresh Chander & Pitrus Kujur was formed and tasked into the sea towards Hiren Tikrey.  The team conducted an intensive search in and around the creeks near Hiren Tikrey, using Fast Interceptor Boat (FIB) of Police department, M.V Riflemen, despite overwhelming inclement weather conditions. On 23/08/2018 at about 1200 hrs the team got success when they spotted a dinghy nearly 30 Nautical Miles (NM) away from Wandoor in which two missing persons Arun Mondal and Vijay Baroi were seen. Their dinghy was drifting towards the deep sea due to engine failure. They were immediately evacuated to police boat and provided water and eatables on board. Later they were shifted to PHC Manglutan for first aid. The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of Mohd. Umar, SDPO (Bambooflat) and overall supervision of Mr Vijay Singh SP(D)SA.
