A student of Industrial Training Institute (ITI) here allegedly attacked a lady instructor of the institute on Monday. The incident occurred just after the college study hours started when the teacher questioned the presence of the student in front of another class. He was reportedly speaking to a girl student on the pretext of providing notes.
According to sources, the student lost temper when questioned by the teacher and slapped her in the presence of other faculty members and students. The teacher, later, registered a complaint with the Principal of the institute.
“Such incidents will not be tolerated and an inquiry will be conducted,” said the Principal of ITI, Mr Venket. The parents of the student were immediately called to the institute after the incident and a police complaint has also been made. The institute management will take an appropriate decision whether to suspend the student or rusticate him from the institute, added the Principal.
