The Indian Coast Guard is conducting awareness drives since September  8 to mark the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) 2017 on September  16 with the aim to generate awareness among the masses for cleaner beaches and sea. The third series of lectures were conducted on Wednesday in JNRM college and Andaman Law college here. During the drive, presentation, lectures and interactive sessions were conducted to generate awareness among young minds in respect to ongoing “Swachh Sagar Abhiyan” towards preservation and conservation of marine environment.  Around 150 students and professors from JNRM College participated in the event and pledged to make these islands free from pollution. Students will further pass on this information to their friends and relatives to have maximum understanding of cleaner marine ecology.
