Sudweep, Urvashi win state level painting contest

The Ministry of Power had launched the National Awareness Campaign to promote Energy Conservation in the country. Painting competition for students has been included as one of the activities of the campaign.  State Level Painting Competition was held on Tuesday in the Auditorium of Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School, Port Blair in which competition 88 students of different schools of A&N Islands had participated.   
The chief guest of the concluding function Commissioner-Cum-Secretary (Power) in his address appreciated the participation of students.  Mr Sanjeev Khirwar said that students must be aware of the happening around the world in the field of New & Renewable Sources of Energy. Later Mr Dipankar Ghosh, Deputy Director of Education , A&N Admn congratulated all the participants and appreciated the level of painting done by participating students. Mr U.K. Paul, Superintending Engineer, Electricity Department welcomed that gathering and highlighted the importance of New & Renewable Sources of Energy (NRSE).
Cash prize of Rs. 20,000/- was awarded to First Position winners, Rs.15,000/- awarded to Second position winners and Rs 10,000/- awarded to third position winners and  Rs, 5000/- awarded as consolation prize to 20 students .Participation amount of Rs. 2000/- was given to all the participants of the competition.
