Sustainability Edu Prog- Regional Recognition 2107

CPREEC in collaboration with WIPRO-Earthian has taken up a Sustainability Education Programme in South India involving innovative project submissions on sustainability of water and biodiversity by groups of students guided by a teacher.  CPREEC with its network in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh,Telangana, Odisha, Pondicherry, Goa and A& N Islands oriented 1078 teachers from 944 schools through 20 workshops in 18 districts where 447 project submissions were received. All the projects submitted will receive participation certificates for students and guide teachers. C.P.R.Environmental Education Centre, Chennai, in association with the WIPRO Earthian is also awarding best project submissions at the regional/state level and will confer Regional Winners-2017 in all centres mentioned above through Regional Recognition Events. All awarded teachers and students will be given a Regional Winner Certificate and the memento for the school.
In Andaman and Nicobar Islands, twelve projects have been shortlisted for national level from the twelve schools on the theme of Water and Biodiversity. The schools are: Nirmala Sr. Sec. School Port Blair, Govt. Sr. Sec. School Mangultan, Vitala Public School, Kamaraj English Medium School, Carmel Sr. Secondary School, Sagaritara School, Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Kalighat, Govt. Sec. School, Nabagram , Govt. Sec. School, Laxmipur.  The regional recognition event’s prize distribution ceremony was systematized in the hall of Deputy Director Science on 13.02.2018. Dr. C. Sivaperman, Officer -In-Charge was the Chief Guest. He gave away the regional winner’s Certificate, Participation certificate and the memento for the school for their commendable performance. Mr. A. Gopal, Project Officer, CPREEC, Port Blair gave an introduction of Sustainability Education Programme’s regional recognition event. He highlighted the impacts of environmental degradation. He also proposed the vote of thanks.
