SW Secretary inaugurates temple, dining hall at Pranab Kanya Sangha

The Secretary, Social Welfare, Smt Rashmi Singh, inaugurated the newly constructed temple and dining hall at Pranab Kanya Sangha on Thursday. Smt Rupa Ray was the special invitee on the occasion. Dr Poonam Arora, Chairperson, A & N State Social Welfare Board, President, Andaman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr Girish Arora,  Swami Amrityananda,  Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Swami Sidhanandji Maharaj, Secretary, Chinmaya Mission, officials of the Social Welfare Department and inmates of the Sangha were also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Smt Rashmi Singh lauded the efforts of Pranab Kanya Sangha towards providing conducive atmosphere for the upbringing and welfare of the inmates in the Sangha. The contribution of Shyamal Choudhury is building the temple and dining hall facility deserves a special mention and I express thanks to all others who donated generously for the welfare of children here, she said.
About the Juvenile Justice Fund announced by the Union Government, Smt Singh said that the fund will be utilized for the needy sections towards providing them better education, coaching for higher studies like IIT, sports etc. The administrations seeks the participation of the civil society, corporate bodies, social service organizations etc so that funds under the scheme can be optimally utilized for the welfare of children, elderly citizens, women etc, she added. A member of Pranab Kanya Sangha expressed gratitude to all who donated for construction of the temple and dining facility at the orphanage. “We’re confident that the administration, defence units and all others will continue its support to the Sangha for the welfare of the inmates,” she said.
