Swacchta Pakhwada is being observed by the Territorial Army battalion-‘Island Terriers’ at Brichgunj Military Station, under the Andaman & Nicobar Command, from 1st to 15th December, 2017. Being Citizen’s Army of Volunteers from A & N Islands, the activities being conducted are making significant contribution in checking ecological degradation and cleanliness of beaches and surrounding areas. Island Terriers have started a drive of tree plantation, waste management, cleanliness and beach clearing at Brichgunj and Campbell Bay. The drive has not only ensured general cleanliness in the area but also increased awareness about waste management. This has further lead to massive reduction in waste output at the station. The measure is directed towards furthering Commander-in-Chief, A & N Command’s vision for Clean and Green Nation.
