Taj Exotica to launch operations at Havelock this month

The premier luxury hotel chain, Taj is set to launch its maiden resort in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on June 6. According to reports, Taj management has opted for a small scale inauguration this month in view of turbulent weather conditions, while the gala launch, which will host top dignitaries from across the global, international, national and local media, has been planned during September or October this year.
According to reports, Taj Exotica Resort & Spa Andaman Islands will be one of the biggest brand hotels in the Bay of Bengal island chain. Constructed on a parcel on land obtained on lease from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Integrated Development Corporation Limited, the resort will have 75 luxury rooms, restaurants, private beach, a swimming pool besides other facilities. The group is also in talks with airline operators to hire exclusive seaplane and chopper for its valued guests.
Speaking to this Correspondent, vice president of Taj Exotica, Mr Prabhat confirmed the development. Taj’s Havelock venture property will feature 75 villas, including a 743m²  residential villas. The new resort is being designed in the low-rise style of traditional Jarawa huts, reflecting the villages of one of the Andaman tribes. 50 of the total 75 accommodation facilities, one of the three restaurants are complete while the rest are in different stages of completion. In view of the prevailing monsoon season, the management has decided to go a small launch function on June 6 to announce its commercial operations here. After the rainy season, Taj will hold a global launch function and noted dignitaries from around the world, media will be invited, he informed. 
It was reported in January this year that Luxury Hotel chain, Taj has plans to make its debut in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands in 2017 when it will open a new luxury resort at Havelock, the most sought after tourist destination in the archipelago. Taj Exotica Resort & Spa Andaman Islands will join existing Taj Exotica-branded resorts in other key beach destinations including Goa and the Maldives.
